Canvas control square issue

I've tried soft reset, hard reset, unplugging the canvas, restarting my wifi, nothing has helped. They are stuck dim white, any button I press on the control square lights up but doesn't change the function on the lights. I looked around and this seems to be a fairly commonly problem.

I've probably had this set for less than a year and for the amount payed I expected a bit more longevity. It's bad enough the app only works half the time but now the lights are failing as well?
