Hi!
I have couple of Nanoleaf Panels. I had to replace my phone device and now I cannot access any of them. I did this:
- delete one of them
- try to add it as a new device, can't because the joining to the network 'fails'(!) even if I see it in the local network with IP address
- created new account and I was surprised to see all devices there (3) but not the 4th one
- try again to join with hard reset, but no success (same thing, it fails in Wi-Fi validation)
I am totally stuck now. The network has 2.4/5GHz and the pairing works up to the application validation, What can I do? Any advice?
Thank you!
Hi @late__resonance__374
Are you on iOS or Android? For the device thats failing, what kind of a product is it (you can also provide the model number).
For step 4, is there an error that is mentioned on the app?

Android, Samsung Ultra (first device), Lenovo tablet (second device). Both can read the devices, but cannot connect to them. They appears grey-out. The Nanoleaf have IP address on local network.
The Nanoleaf is:
- 3 kits Nanoleaf Light Panel + Rhytm (X00291PZJF)
- 1 Kit Nanoleaf Shapes (NL47-7003TW-7PK)
Here are the steps:
- put the kit in pair mode (soft reset/hard reset)
- the app asks me to scan the QR Code (I have no such code for any of the kits) => manual pair
- the app finds (around a minute) the Nanolaeaf Panel xx:xx (two numbers)
- click on the panel => a pop-up appears with the instructions -> WiFi and put the password => connect to the Panel WiFi
- return to the app (connected to the panel's WiFi) -> press Continue
- new instruction in pop-up to change the WiFi to the local => change the WiFi and return to the app
- the app shows "Connecting to the WiFi" and that is spinning for a while, then there is a pop-up "Try again"
When I check the local network, I see the Nanoleaf Panels registered to the network.
The app doesn't see the panels.
I work with a lot of Zigbee, WiFi, Matter, Threads devices and each time when I change the (master) device where I have the panels registered, I have this problem. Is there any possibility to restore the connection if I know the IP Address? It is a bit frustrating the app is making this to me w/o any meaningful message. Does the app logs the issues somewhere? Do you have an app that can be side loaded and debug the issue?
Thank you very much!
Is multicast DNS blocked on your router by any chance, or is UDP port 5353 (used by mDNS) blocked on your network?
If the device joins the network (you will also see a green flash on the panels) but the app still cannot see the device on the network, this generally means that mDNS is blocked.
