Nothing I do seems to get a second power supply to pair with the nanoleaf lines. I find this process incredibly frustrating. It took over an hour to get the first power supply to be detected. In fact, this is a common thread for all nanoleaf devices. It's not clear to me how the company is staying in business when the products are so flakey.
Here is a snapshot of the loop I'm in:
1 Reset lines power supply
- Reboot router
- Open nanoleaf > my devices > add new
- Scan code
- Code fails. Everytime. Every single time. So I'm not sure why that functionality exists.
- "Device not found" Retry or use pairing code.
- Select pairing code.
- there is a search box. Sometimes the lines show up before I even type in the box. It really doesn't matter.
- Put in code. Hit search. Wait for 2-3 minutes.
10A: it never finds a match
10B: it finds a match. brings up the apple homekit scan screen - scan does not work. So I'm not sure why that functionality exists either.
11: Who cares, it doesn't work.
This is the same loop I participated in to get the first starter set connected, but then it magically worked. This one is not.
Before you ask:
Yes I've reset the nanoleaf device
Yes I'm within 20 feet. My phone and the nanoleaf power supply part with code are in the same hand.
Yes I've rebooted my router.
Is there any actual reason to not bundle up the $600 worth of lines I've bought, the 4 different light strips, 10 bulbs and not return/sell/trash these items? Eve does not have these problems. Hue does not have these problems. Elgato - no problem. Nest secure through homebridge - no problem. Aqara water detection sensors - no problem. Wemo - amazingly after years of ineptitude, now function perfectly. ecobee thermostat - no problem. SmartMi Air Purifier - totally brok- no you guessed it - works flawlessly, along with the 3 hunter ceiling fans.
Everything in my house works flawlessly on my network. Over 60 smart home devices - except Nanoleaf.
Appreciate ideas. Apologize if I sound rude. I'm frustrated with Nanoleaf.
