Hi Nanoleaf, I just got my 3 ledstrip kits today. I already bought 15 panels a half year ago. I already setup my first ledstrip, but I didn't had to pick a wifi. Now when I go to my Access Point, I can only see the IP address of my Nanoleaf panels, but not my ledstrip. How is everything connected with each other?

The Essentials LED Strips don't have WiFi. They work over Thread or BLE. For Thread you will need to have a HomePod Mini. Out of the box they will work over BLE with your phone, which is likely what they are working on right now.

Hope this helps

No, they have no direct connection with the Light Panels. They work over BLE with your phone, or over Thread with the HomePod Mini.

So I bought the Nanoleaf remote, that arrives tomorrow, but you are saying that I cant use the remote to control group scenes where my ledstrips are a part of? Why did Nanoleaf choose to not use wifi in the ledstrips, that could have given the ledstrips lots of more features!

are you using Homekit?
if yes then the remote will still be able to control the Light strips on either BLE or Thread as long as you have a home hub as well.

I am not using Homekit. We have Google Home here, so no apple devices. Does this mean the remote isnt working for me the way I want?

Yes with Google Home, you can also use them, make sure that the Nanoleaf Lightstrips is updated and if you already have made the connection with Google Home it will work!
