Modify Existing Scene - Touch Paint

Does anyone know if it's possible to modify an existing interactive/touch plug-in? I'd like to modify the Touch Paint scene to be more intuitive, and rely on tapping rather than swiping across multiple panels.

You should be able to tap as well for the touch paint motion to work. The panels need a more firm tap.
