Some essential A19 and BR30 bulbs. Some stuck at version 3.6.196, but two have updated to 4.1.3. This has been weeks.

I am having the same problem.
Yup. Same amount a host of other random issues. Opened a ticket in November with no resolution in sight.

Same here. Two out of five bulbs won't update from 1.6.41 to 3.01.
I’ve managed to brute force an update by power off for a minute or so, reboot the phone during that time. Then power on, run update while standing close to the light with the app open.
It took 3-5 tries for each of my lights but eventually it did update
