For the past two months Nanoleaf controllers have been making an insane amount of DNS queries for the domain dvz75zw5cearf.cloudfront.net

With the controllers I have it's an average of ~70000 queries a day.
Effectively performing a DDoS attack on my home network.

There are also threads on Reddit about this.

Half a year has past and even with firmware version 9.2.3 the problem still exists.
The DNS response is NODATA, which means that the requested record does not exist.

We're getting to the point of failure to comply with the EU laws and regulations.

Seeing the same thing. I blocked that plus every other nanoleaf based telemetry. The product still works as I typically just use the attached button on the nanoleaf. I agree though it's ridiculous to see so many no op requests on my network.

+1 looking for a solution. Elements on 9.2.3

I'm at 1.3 million queries to that host. This doesn't include daemon.nanoleaf.me or health.nanoleaf.me, which are also extremely chatty, but at least presumably enable the cloud services.
