2 starter kits, 1 iphone

Hello. Would anything need to be different setting up two starter sets in one house?
So on the first floor is gt 7 panels and in a bedroom is a 8 panel. Both wont function unless the other is unplugged. Why?

No, there is no such requirement.
When you say, it won't function, what part of the panels dont function? Are they not functioning via the app, or not displaying effects?
